LWKS presents Lightworks 2023, the latest version of the classic NLE – both in the free version and in the paid (subscription) “Create” and “Pro” versions. The updated package is available immediately.

Lightworks 2023 combines professional tools for editing, motion graphics, colour correction and audio in a single platform. Following the improvements to the colour management system in 2022, LWKS has added comprehensive HDR workflow support to Lightworks 2023. Another important new feature is the toolset for creating customised layouts. This allows users to create and save customised Lightworks layouts to suit their editing needs and style. Lightworks 2023 has also been enhanced with video mask effects to make working with pre-built effects or creating new effects much easier.

Other important new features include improvements to keyboard shortcuts, control panels, audio tools, video effects and much more. Editors can also look forward to an improved user interface.

Lightworks 2022 in three versions: Lightworks 2022 is offered in three versions: a free version, a “Creator” version and a “Pro” version. The three different versions are aimed at different types of users with different needs.

Free, Create and Pro: In the following, we take a quick look at what Lightworks writes about the three versions of its editing software. So let’s take a look at Lightworks Free, Lightworks Create and Lightworks Pro.

Lightworks Free: Features that previously deterred beginners have been removed. Instead, features have been added that are particularly suitable for newcomers, including over 80 image transitions. Anyone venturing into film editing with Lightworks Free uses the software with a three-month licence, which can be renewed.

Lightworks Create: According to the developers, this new version of the NLE software has been specially tailored to the needs of marketing experts, film makers and content creators. To appeal to these users, Lightworks Create offers 4K export as well as features designed to support collaborative work on projects. You can also expect over 800 new, customisable title fonts and motion graphics.

Lightworks Pro: According to the software provider’s self-image, this is the flagship version of its NLE tool. More than 300 new effects have been added to Lightworks Pro for the new release (including: “Remove image noise”, “Correct distortions”, “Adjust luminance”). Users will also be able to integrate video and audio plug-ins into Lightworks Pro. Plugins based on OpenFX, VST3 and AU will be supported, as well as those that work on the basis of LADSPA, i.e. those from NewBlueFX, BorisFX, Maxon, Waves, Sonnox and Accusonus.
