WrapKit arrived as an alpha release, available for free. It is built as a fully procedural and non-destructive Geometry Nodes powered system. The tool targets a familiar task: wrapping one object onto the surface of another. The goal is to minimize common problems artists run into with surface projection workflows, including distortion, flattening, and missed projections. User feedback is explicitly requested for this alpha. Pricing is simple right now: the alpha is free.

How the wrap is supposed to work

WrapKit is taking a different approach than traditional wrapping methods such as Shrinkwrap by using a procedural walker algorithm that moves across surfaces for consistent contact and clean results.

A single point gets projected first. If the point does not hit, the point moves to the nearest surface. Then, more points get added along the tangent direction, traversing across the surface until the traversal reaches the length of the projected geometry. The traversal repeats in the negative tangent direction as well. That produces a curve that sticks to the surface. Next, the traversal repeats perpendicularly for all curve points until it reaches the maximum width of the projection object. Those curves then turn into a surface and UVs get generated. After that, the original surface can be brought into the UV space of the generated surface flow geometry.

If you have ever watched a decal or panel strip stretch itself into a sad noodle on a curved mesh, you can see why this sounds appealing. Just keep it grounded in reality: it is still an alpha, and the only trustworthy test is your own mesh and your own deadlines.

About one third into your first trials, you will probably notice whether it keeps geometry where you expect it or whether it likes to warp it into surprises.

Where it came from

WrapKit follows LimbKit, another Geometry Nodes-based tool associated with quick blocking out of hands and feet. The same creator, Jörg Grubmüller, now points that procedural mindset at surface wrapping.

If you are the type who likes node graphs that keep your options open, this release is worth a look. If you are the type who likes things that never break, it is still worth a look, just maybe not on the shot that delivers tomorrow.

https://joergsla.gumroad.com/l/wrapkit
