HAELE 3D, the developer behind a series of 3D anatomy reference utilities, has unveiled details about its next tool, Pose Studio, aimed squarely at character artists who need flexible reference models for figure work. The announcement comes on the back of the developer’s earlier releases such as hand- and face-focused reference apps.

Pose Studio is billed as a fully editable 3D posing reference application. Unlike static pose libraries, every pose within the app can be adjusted by the user, offering control over the position of full-body joints and limbs. The app also features toggles between different anatomical layers: it can show skeletal structures or muscular forms, which may aid artists studying underlying anatomy or refining surface forms. The developer is also planning view options between realistic and stylised model appearances to suit different art styles.

The tool is not yet complete, and there is no confirmed release date, pricing structure, or platform list at the time of writing. The developer has shared early visuals and adjustments, such as pelvis tweaks, on social platforms, but official specs and workflows remain unpublished.

Pose reference apps are widely used by concept artists, illustrators, sculptors, and animators to study body proportions, lighting, weight distribution, and dynamics of pose without needing a physical model or live sitter. Pose Studio appears to continue this trend by emphasising editable anatomy and multiple visualisation modes. Fact check and test in real scenarios before incorporating into production workflows. Not independently verified at press time.
