This time in Digital Production
Welcome to another round of only the best news! Well, reasonably good News. Okay, okay, here is some news. A new, clever and small LUT tool to edit them without wobbling through the whole pipeline, a way to get Gaussian Splats on your iPhone (Completely Local), the new Owner of ArtStation and Sketchfab, and Mudbox’s drying up. In our longer reads, we talked to all the right people: what Lenscore is doing now that it is finally released, what is happening over at Caddis, what the current “best” Monitor is, and asked the most relevant questions from DaVinci Resolve: Do you recognise this Cat?
By the way: If you are at IBC, drop us a line, and we'll have coffee, a chinwag, and a bit of gossip!

Exclusive for subscribers
These are the subscriber articles of this issue: A few questions for the developer of Caddis - the new, cool, quick and small Compositing / MoGraph tool we’ve recently put in our toolbox.
Speaking of tools, we had a loving longtime look at the last, probably greatest IPS screen there is - after this one, the only way to upgrade is an included coffee maker. To get better, it has to be a different kid of panel *cough* Oled *cough*.
Cat jokes aside, we are going through the new features in Resolve 21 and have a proper test of the transcription and recognition-M tools in there. Are they really “ready for daily use”?
Speaking of daily use: ZEISS’ Lenscore System is finally released, and now that we know what’s in and what’s not, we talked to Joern Grosshans about what it is for, what is available today, and where this might lead.

Hearing Voices: What can AI in DaVinci Resolve 21 do for you?
We have been looking into transcription and subtitles from audio before, but Resolve 21 has added background processing and more AI in this field. Like going the other way, from text to audio, or from one voice to another. Are these features production-ready?

Bye Bye
That’s it for this round - the next one will be a bit late because it will coincide with the IBC weekend, so we might try to bring you some new cool stuff from there.
Until then, Bela & the Floof
(The Floof will not be attending IBC; she does not believe the halls are filled adequately with Cat-Treats )
