Media 100 develops automated enterprise streaming technology based on Cleaner platform

Media 100 presents automated, database-driven enterprise streaming solution based on Cleaner 5 – scalable streaming engine for high volumes, ideal for the production of large quantities of streaming content

Media 100 Inc. debuted a new streaming technology designed for large volumes of streaming media content at NAB 2001 in Las Vegas. Based on Cleaner 5, the company’s flagship streaming media solution, the new database-driven enterprise solution provides streaming processing for facilities that produce large volumes of content for distribution over the Internet.

“Media 100’s new enterprise streaming technology is an important indicator of the power of Cleaner technology as a platform for a wide variety of streaming media applications,” said John Molinari, President and CEO of Media 100. “Cleaner 5 is just the tip of the streaming iceberg. With Cleaner as our strategic streaming media foundation, we are developing different applications for different industries, all looking for a solution-based approach to creating and distributing high-quality streaming content, regardless of format or data rate.”

Media 100’s presentation at NAB showcased a centralised database-driven server that controls multiple connected Cleaner 5 or Cleaner XL clients within a network. This new solution is scalable and grows with the customer’s requirements for greater speed or higher volume of streaming content by simply adding more cost-effective clients to the network. The technology also includes an XML interface that enables the seamless integration of leading databases, asset management and indexing systems. The enterprise streaming solution is administered via a web-based interface.
