“Release 2.0 is a milestone for several reasons,” comments CEO and founder Ulrich Helm. “We emphasise our leading position in software development and offer professional users and streaming agencies complete rich media functionality for both live and on-demand applications – under an easy-to-use Windows interface. We are the first standard software to enable the integration of any web elements as library objects – even a complete website can be defined as a library object and integrated directly into the rich media contribution by the online editor using drag & drop. This saves our customers a lot of programming work, and rich media and video on the Internet can be offered more cost-effectively in future.”
Design
DESiGN-CONTROL 2.0 offers professional web designers the opportunity to create CI-compliant and attractive rich media layouts. The software uses modern tools and interfaces familiar from professional graphics programmes to create frameworks and layouts. Coloured areas in front of freely configurable backgrounds symbolise the size and positioning of the video, text, graphic and hyperlink inserts in the template. Layout and content are initially independent: The layout can be used for changing content, which supports efficient format design, particularly in professional production for Internet TV stations.
A new function of DESiGN-CONTROL 2.0 is the ability to create object libraries. If chats, polls, order forms, Flash animations or any other elements are to be provided for the online editors, all the necessary programme parts are placed in the library. For the online editor, even the most complex programme then only appears as an icon that can be freely positioned on the timeline and then makes all its functions available in the Internet viewer’s browser.
In DESiGN-CONTROL 2.0, webmasters and web designers can define all technical parameters at the same time. Data formats for input and output, transfer rates and preload settings are selected via menus that display the variants valid in the system environment. An automated upload of content can be set up by specifying server addresses. Possible target addresses are remote FTP and streaming servers, but also CD or local storage and network drives.
… and content creation
The rich media contributions themselves are created by the online editors in the programmes i-CONTROL (for on-demand applications) and LiVE-CONTROL (for live video broadcasts of events). In both versions, the user works with a timeline/run down and can therefore precisely synchronise the time sequence of the individual media elements. In the new version, both programmes adopt templates from DESiGN-CONTROL. Source material and relevant project data can be easily exchanged between LiVE-CONTROL and i-CONTROL. This allows individual passages or summaries to be compiled very quickly from live broadcasts as on-demand contributions.
Rich Media Collection
The target groups for the software packages include streaming agencies, Internet TV channels, web agencies and companies with e-commerce and e-learning programmes. All three CONTROL programmes are combined as a complete package in the RICH MEDIA COLLECTION. The software suite is a software package that covers all work processes from design to the creation and transmission of content in live and on-demand broadcasts. The RICH MEDIA COLLECTION is available on the market at a price of DM 9,980 (plus VAT). Test versions of all CONTROL programmes are available on the Internet for downloading or ordering as CD versions.
