Nuke Studio

The Foundry announced a new product at NAB: Nuke Studio is designed to combine the VFX, editorial and finishing processes in one application.

The special thing about Nuke Studio is that the tool allows a project to be edited from start to finish – in all process stages of the workflow. This should enable artists to make project changes more quickly during production.

Nuke Studio will be available later this year. The software is based on The Foundry’s existing compositing, conforming and shot management technology, but new features and functions will also be added.

The node-based VFX, editorial and finishing studio can be used by a single artist or by teams as a collaborative workflow tool. The team can share scripts and annotations.

Other features of Nuke Studio include Effects can be inserted into the timeline and played back in real time so that artists can experiment better with looks. According to The Foundry, 4K playback is also possible in real time and the built-in rendering automatically utilises all available resources, regardless of whether it is working with one hardware system or several. According to The Foundry, complex compositing shots are processed in the NukeX environment, and Nuke Studio can also be easily integrated into asset management systems and pipelines.

In this video, artists who have already worked with Nuke Studio talk about their workflow experiences.
