Support for multi-core CPUs

Arnold recently released the latest version of its Arnold renderer. Version 6.0.4 now offers improved performance when rendering with multi-core processors. The supported processors include AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper and Intel’s Core i9 and Xeon. Thanks to the improved support, rendering times should be noticeably shorter.

Other new features include automatic file path remapping when working in parallel on several workstations at the same time. But also a new tint control of the rim ligth for Arnold’s toon shader, as well as extended GPU rendering and OSL and USD support. Support for Open Shading Language has also been extended.

The integration plug-ins have also been equipped with new features worth mentioning. For example, the 3ds Max plugin MAXtoA now has the Arnold Renderview. In addition, there is now a real-time render preview function and support for the tyFlow Physics toolset. Furthermore, C4DtoA has been equipped with a new render time scattering system (Arnold Scatter).

Arnold 6.0.4 is available from Windows 7, RHEL/ CentOs 6 and above, as well as Mac Os X 10.11 and subsequent programme versions. The renderer can be integrated into 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Katana and Maya. A legacy plugin has been created for Softimage.

Arnold is sold exclusively as a subscription model. Single-user subscriptions start at 45 US dollars per month or 360 US dollars per year. Multi-user subscriptions start at 630 US dollars per year. A 30-day trial version is also available for download.
