Blackmagic Design is pushing three of its cameras into the limelight. The Blackmagic Pocket series includes: Cinema Camera 4K, Cinema Camera 6K and Cinema Camera 6K Pro. According to Blackmagic Design, the Pocket Cinema Cameras are designed to achieve the Hollywood look.
The cameras in Blackmagic Design’s Pocket series boast these technical specifications: Cinema Camera 4K comes with a 4/3 image sensor, including a resolution of 4096 x 2160 and an MFT lens mount. The Cinema Camera 6K has a 6144 x 3456 Super 35 sensor and an EF lens mount; large EF lenses can also be used. Finally, the Cinema Camera 6K extends the range of functions, for example with a built-in neutral density filter for 2.4 and 6 f-stops, a tilting HDR LCD with 1,500 nits, two mini XLR audio sockets and a large NP-F570-type battery.
Cost point: The Cinema Camera 4K is currently available for USD 1,295, the Cinema Camera 6K for USD 1,995 and the Cinema Camera 6K Pro for USD 2,495.
