Animal Logic publishes USD ALab – a free USD asset.
The USD asset is: A Scene that any mad scientist who thinks highly of their workplace (Looking at you, Doc Brown!) would feel right at home in. The scene is centred on Animal Logic’s USD production workflow.
Leading the way in USD: Over the course of 2017, during the production of the animated film Peter Rabbit, Animal Logic switched to a USD-based workflow. The studio has thus established itself as a pioneer when it comes to USD workflows for VFX productions. With the release of USD ALab, Animal Logic hopes that other VFX production houses will also switch to a USD-based workflow in the future.
Availability: USD ALab Scene is availableto download free of charge from Animal Logic’s website . The Scene has a live weight of one gigabyte and can be imported into applications such as Maya, Houdini or Omniverse.
