In nuce: As part of our weekly recurring series “Animago Afternoon”, we present pearls, gems and other splendours from last year’s Animago film festivals at the best time of the afternoon. This time we’re showing you the award-nominated short film “Border” by animation studio Rabbit Hole (then “Plan 78”), salvaged from the Animago archives in 2015.
What’s behind Border? The film explores the absurdity of man-made borders in a humorous way. In the short film, two chocolate lentil-like people meet on a border strip – will they succeed in resolving their border conflict in a pacifist and constructive way? To find out, click on the full short film below.
Background information on Border: The animated short film was realised by Reinout Swinnen and Bram Van Rompaey. Reinout is lead animator and owner of the animation studio “Rabbit Hole”, Bram is co-founder of “Rabbit Hole”. Both filmmakers are from Belgium. The short film was produced by S.O.I.L. and the sound was produced by Senstudio. The film was created using Maya, Modo, After Effects and Premiere.
