In nuce: GoPro, the manufacturer of action camcorders, is launching three new Hero11 Black cameras onto the market. This is according to a recent press release. The three cameras are: Hero11 Black, Hero11 Black Creator Edition and Hero11 Black Mini. The three cameras are aimed at different groups of buyers with their specific focus.
- Hero11 Black: focusses on durability and performance. Aimed at professionals and hobbyists alike. Recommended retail price (RRP): €549.99. For GoPro subscribers: €449.98. Available now.
GoPro: Introducing HERO11 Black – Ultra Versatility Maximum Performance
- Hero11 Black Creator Edition: Described by the manufacturer as an all-in-one powerhouse – with a focus on the needs of vloggers, filmmakers and livestreamers. A question of size: The Hero11 Black Creator Edition is designed to fit in the palm of one hand. And performance: The Hero11 Black Creator Edition is designed to offer the full performance of the Hero11 Black – plus a long-lasting battery grip with integrated buttons (see image below), allowing the camera to be controlled with one hand. Other technical specifications include: four hours of recording time in 4K per battery charge, optional directional microphone, external microphone input, HDMI connection for external displays, powerful LED light – and two accessory shoes that can be used to attach accessories. - Hero11 Black Mini: Described by the manufacturer as a light to smaller version of the Hero11 Black – with the same performance. Technical specifications of Hero11 Black, Hero11 Black Creator Edition and Hero11 Black Mini:
- Larger sensors: enables 8:7 aspect ratio video, with the developer claiming that the 8:7 aspect ratio allows footage to be cropped to different aspect ratios using the GoPro Quik app (see video below)
- Videos with 10-bit colour: with Hero11 Black and Hero11 Black Mini, the new 1/1.9-inch sensor delivers over 1 billion colours in videos with 10-bit colour – at a resolution of up to 5.3K and 60 frames per second. The Hero 11 Black also delivers 27-megapixel photos
- HyperView: a new, extremely wide field of view in 16:9 format. The manufacturer emphasises the particular suitability of HyperView for POV shots – for example when cycling, skiing or motorcycling. SuperView now also available for 5.3K60 and 4K120
- HyperSmooth 5.0 video stabilisation: with integrated 360° horizon lock, which is designed to keep recordings straight even when the camera is rotating a full 360 degrees.
- High-performance Enduro GoPro battery: designed to improve camera performance in cold and moderate temperatures. The developer also promises to extend the recording time of the Hero11 Black by up to 38 per cent. Enduro is included with the Hero11 Black and the Hero11 Black Creator Edition. - Three new presets for time-lapse shots at night: this should make it easier to capture high-quality start rails, light paintings and car light trails
