In nuce: The company Worldwide FX has published a VFX breakdown – its content: a commercial for the Midea Group. The Midea Group is a manufacturer of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technology) headquartered in China. The girls and boys from Worldwide FX contributed over 50 shots to the advert. The video description states that the VFX service provider was already involved in the pre-production of the advert – contributing concept designs, environments, storyboards and animatics.
Nikolay Bonev, VFX supervisor on the project, says of the project: “The biggest challenge was to tell a story that goes from the big bang to the final product.” The visualisation of transforming objects in particular required perseverance on the part of the artists involved.
