Create parametric tiles with the Max Array Modifier for 3ds Max!

The Technical Director of Scanline VFX is expanding his modifier, which can be used to create a wide variety of tile types – from zigzag patterns to herringbone looks.

In nuce: Changsoo Eun (Technical Director, VFX Artist and 3D Generalist at Scanline VFX) has extended the 3ds Max Array Modifier. The extension consists of csArrayMaker, a script for creating parametric tiles and floor coverings, and Sample Pack, which collects 18 application examples for the Array Modifier – including those by John Martini (Digital Production reported on 17 August 2020).

In toto: The parametric tiles included in the script are four geometric shapes: Circles, diamonds, triangles and hexagons. The size of the tiles can be customised. The script also contains four tile types: Herringbone, zigzag pattern (chevron), wood strip and basketweave.
