In nuce: For the first time in its history, FMX (Film & Media Exchange), which is scheduled for 2023, will be certified as a climate-friendly event (by the Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Foundation). In keeping with this, the trailer for FMX 2023 (The Beauty) deals with the topic of sustainability (see below). This is according to a recent press release. Accordingly, according to the same press release, FMX 2023 will focus on the topic of sustainability in film and media production – and on how the film industry can become more climate-friendly.

In toto: The first programme items for FMX 2023 have also been made public – these include Founder Yannis Konstantinidis with his production company Nomint respectively the stop-motion film We Can’t Negotiate With The Melting Point Of Ice: We Can’t Negotiate With The Melting Point Of Ice) from WWF (World Wildlife Fund); co-founder Pete Williams and executive producer Andrew Milner from motion design studio Alchemy, will present their work on the streaming docutainment series The World According to Jeff Goldblum ; and founder Sam Hodge will be present with his software company Kognat, which will focus on AI-supported rotoscoping processes.
Readers of Digital Production will already be familiar with the short film The Beauty , which won an Animago Award and a VES Award ( both in 2019). The film deals with the pollution of the world’s oceans by plastic waste. The Beauty dives into an underwater world where man-made plastic waste and the natural deep sea collide.
