Pencil-Sharp Update: Cintiq 16, 24 and 24 Touch Hit 2.5K

Wacom rolls out Cintiq 16, 24 and 24 Touch with Pro Pen 3, 2.5K panels, silent chassis and bundled Clip Studio Paint EX.

Wacom’s June 5 launch spices up the mid-tier by grafting the flagship Pro Pen 3 onto the new Cintiq 16, Cintiq 24 and Cintiq 24 Touch. Higher sampling and pressure sensitivity translate into strokes that track like a production assistant on triple espresso. Optional kits let artists tweak grip thickness, weight balance and button layout; a wood-grain grip even caters to the analog romantics.

Display specs that finally catch the eye

The 16-inch panel resolves at 2560 × 1600, while the 23.8-inch models clock 2560 × 1440. Direct bonding minimises parallax (cursor-offset) and etched anti-glare glass reduces reflections for longer grading or rigging sessions without squinting. Touch input remains a Cintiq 24 Touch-only perk, bringing two-handed zooms and rotates back into the conversation. A fanless chassis keeps noise down and focus up. The makeover also shaves girth: the 24-inch body now measures 21 mm thick—roughly half its 22-inch predecessor—while still surviving backpack duty.

Stands, legs and VESA bolts

Out of the box, Cintiq 24 ships with an adjustable stand that glides through angle changes. Cintiq 16 sticks to fold-out legs but can adopt the optional stand when your spine demands. All three units accept 75 × 75 mm VESA mounts, so bolting them beside a display or standing drawing desk is straightforward.

Cable spaghetti, thinned

Ports sit tidily on the back: USB-C, HDMI and USB-A on every model. The 16-inch unit can run on a single USB-C cable with power delivery, ideal for on-set cart rigs where one wrong tug nukes ( hehehe ) the shot.

Bundles that actually matter

Every screen includes time-limited licences for Clip Studio Paint EX and the heavy-file courier MASV—handy for storyboard passes and overnight EXR drops.

Price check without sticker shock

Current Wacom eStore listings peg pricing at $699.95 for Cintiq 16, $1,299.95 for Cintiq 24 and $1,499.95 for Cintiq 24 Touch t European tags hover around the same ballpark after tax gymnastics; always verify local figures before the purchase order lands on accounting’s desk.

Availability and a polite warning

Units ship this summer via the official Wacom Cintiq page. Kick the tyres first—test driver stability, parallax accuracy and touch latency under real production loads before green-lighting fleet upgrades. Your artists—and your deadline—will thank you.

Verdict in one breath

Pro Pen 3 accuracy, sharper panels and a hushed chassis wrap the new Cintiq trio in a package that feels ready for daily comps and keyframe marathons. As ever, let usability, simplicity and stability decide whether it earns a seat on your desk or a bookmark on the wish list.
