Jana Johnston is a Germany-based filmmaker, photographer, and videographer who splits her time between making images and teaching other people how to make images without starting a small fire in post. She is a co-founder at Mondlicht Film and holds an M.Eng. in Audiovisual Media plus a B.A. in Media Design. As a lecturer, she is affiliated with the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) and external lecturer e.g., at Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart (HdM) and ARD.ZDF Media Academy, so yes, she can explain camera, edit, and grading choices with the calm confidence of someone who has seen too many “quick fixes” arrive five minutes before delivery. Most recently, she also completed the Blackmagic certified DaVinci Resolve trainer course, which is the polite way of saying: if your timeline is a mess, she can probably still rescue it.
