Sony Creative Software announced Vegas Movie Studio 9, Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Edition and Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro Pack. The products will be available in October and November, with free trials online from mid-October 2008 at http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com. Sony also announced lower prices for Movie Studio 9 and the Platinum Edition.
The Platinum Edition provides Sony’s high-definition workflow for working in HD from start to finish, including native AVCHD video directly from a camcorder and Blu-ray Disc burning.
Improved project wizards accelerate production and sharing
New import and export wizards help users produce films faster and format projects correctly for multiple publishing options. Interactive tutorials teach the software while users carry out each step.
Create soundtracks with Cinescore Studio
Derived from the professional Cinescore application, the royalty-free Cinescore Studio soundtrack tool is included in every version. It generates customizable music for video without copyright restrictions and offers many themes and variations.
Publish online and to DVD with one click
Output options include direct YouTube upload, email attachments and formatting for portable media players. DVD Architect Studio 4.5 is included for creating professional-quality standard-definition and widescreen DVDs.
Full HD throughout the project
The Platinum Edition burns Blu-ray Discs directly from projects, imports HD video natively from Sony, Canon and Panasonic AVCHD camcorders, supports Sony’s 1920 AVCHD format, smart-renders MPEG-2, compresses high-quality audio for Sony Walkman and Apple iPod, and supports tapeless HDV transfer.
Pro Pack adds advanced home-studio tools
The Platinum Pro Pack adds Sound Forge Audio Studio, extra Cinescore themes, 1,001 sound effects, NewBlue 3D transitions and effects, and, for a limited time, a 2 GB Sony Microvault USB drive.
Sony’s Dave Chaimson said the family was designed for easy home video production and seamless workflows from camcorder through editing to YouTube and other outputs.
