Sony released version 2.5 of its XDCAM EX Clip Browsing Software for Apple Macintosh computers and Windows PCs. The update added features for users of XDCAM EX products including the PDW-EX1 and EX3 camcorders and EX30 recording deck.
A new XDCAM HD file option enabled copying, deleting, and previewing XDCAM HD files in MXF format. Drag-and-drop conversion from XDCAM EX MP4 files to XDCAM HD MXF files simplified mixed XDCAM HD production workflows. Expanded export functions included converting HD material to XDCAM MPEG IMX or XDCAM DVCAM standard-definition formats.
The application managed video recorded with XDCAM EX devices, supporting copying, moving, deleting, conversion, clip previews, and metadata inspection through a graphical interface.
Version 2.5 required Windows XP SP3 or Vista SP1, or Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.1; at least 1 GB of RAM, with 2 GB recommended; and a 2.0 GHz Pentium 4 or faster on Windows, or a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo or faster on Mac.
