PXU-MS240 combined an SxS card slot with a 240 GB hard drive. Backup began at the press of a button, and the device could also format SxS cards. Power came from an AC adapter, with an optional battery. Sony said one charge could transfer approximately 960 GB.
A USB interface enabled recordings to be reviewed on location using Sony PMW-EX1 and EX3 cameras. USB and eSATA transferred material to workstations and made it available directly for editing.
