Snapdragon 800
With Qualcomm’s latest mobile system-on-a-chip, the Snapdragon 800, mobile devices are intended to gain 75 percent more speed and twice the graphics performance, as well as support 4K resolution, HD audio and Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 surround sound. A dual image-signal processor for supporting four cameras and 3D recording is also intended to be added.
The features of the installed Snapdragon determine what a smartphone or tablet can do. Qualcomm announced at CES that the first mobile devices with the Snapdrog 800 would come onto the market as early as mid-2013.

According to Nvidia, Tegra 4 also supports 4K videos; of particular interest to the VFX industry is likely to be the integrated HDR recording of photos and videos.
