Panasonic has launched two new 4K DMC cameras and a fast MFT lens. We briefly present the most important features:
Lumix GX8
- highest sensor resolution to date within the MFT standard: 20 megapixels
- integrated image stabiliser, according to the manufacturer with twice the performance of the previous model; “Dual Image Stabilization”
- 4K film mode at 24/25 fps
- 13.3 x 7.8 x 6.3 centimetres in size
- splash-proof magnesium body
Panasonic’s RRP for the body is 1,200 euros; the camera is due to be released as early as August.
FZ300
- splash-proof superzoom compact camera
- 1/2.3 inch with 12 Mpix resolution
- stabilised Leica 24x zoom lens (35mm equivalent 25–600mm, F2.8)
- 4K film mode at 24/25 fps

25mm/F1.4 ASPH Lens
- Leica DG Summilux lens
- 50 mm 35mm-equivalent focal length
- fast prime lens
Panasonic’s RRP for the lens is 629 euros.
