DeepC | OSS for Nuke

Deep compositing for everyone! The open source plugin “DeepC” makes it possible.

DeepC is a collection of deep compositing plugins that can be used for Nuke. The project currently includes a total of ten different features that give the user more control over the deep compositing process than Nuke currently allows with its own tools. These plugins are therefore particularly interesting for medium-sized, smaller or even one-man studios.

CeepCPNoise

Using deep position data, DeepCPNoise can generate 3D or 4D noise masks that are significantly better than the native noise options in Nuke itself. The plugin utilises the open source FastNoise library to bring fractal 4D noise to Nuke for the first time.

The following noise functions are included:

  • 4D Simplex Noise
  • 3D Cellular Noise
  • 3D value noise
  • 3D Perlin noise
  • 3D Cubic-Noise

DeepCGrade

Basically works like the conventional grade node from Nuke, but can also handle deep data and thus use deep masks, for example.

Further features:

  • DeepCWorld can generate world position data
  • DeepCPMatte for creating spherical or cube-shaped masks over deep position data
  • DeepCSaturation is a simple rec709 saturation function that affects deep data
  • DeepCID can be used to manipulate object IDs in deep data or combine them with other masks
  • DeepCAddChannels adds new channels or a group
  • DeepCRemoveChannels: removes one or more channels from a deep stream
  • DeepCShuffle for copying or deleting channels
  • DeepCBlink currently only a toy/proof-of-concept from the project creator “charlesangus”
