Making Souls
Perhaps the greatest achievement of the team behind Pixar’s Soul: they developed a system for the procedural generation of Houdini files. This allowed the team to create smooth, volumetric and dynamically changing line graphics.
The Soul team writes: “Everyone, from the art department to the character artists and shaders to the technical leads and developers, contributed to bringing this visual style to the screen.”
