Weta Digital and SideFX enter into the Wetah partnership. With Wetah, Houdini’s community secures years of support in terms of research and development. Weta H will enter the beta phase in the fourth quarter of the year.
Prem Akkaraju, CEO at Weta Digital, comments on the merger of the companies: “Together with SideFX, we are now positioning ourselves even more strongly in the area of cloud services. The Houdini software will break down the barriers that high-priced technologies impose on creative professionals.” Cristin Barghiel, VP of Product Development at SideFX, has this to say about the newly formed partnership: “The efficiency of Houdini’s procedural workflow is now available to a wide range of artists – including and especially the younger generation. Smaller studios can also benefit from this.”
