Sparks of functionality: Will the new Houdini ignite sooner than expected?

In nuce: As part of its online presentation, SideFX has unveiled it: Version 19 of Houdini and there is even an official release date. Version 19 is due to land on your hard drives as early as next Wednesday, 27 October.

The feature-length version presentation will give you a closer look at all the features that await you with version 19. Grosso modo, these include Improvements for Solaris – in terms of layout, environments, lighting and rendering. Karma and KineFX also receive updates.

For Solaris, this means in detail: Brush-based framework for set dressing, HDA-controlled brush architecture with unlimited customisation options, PDG-supported creation of layout asset galleries, better creation of motion blurs, comprehensive Houdini scene importer or faster GL rendering for transformable instances.
