A total of 38 minutes of the 134-minute running time of the remarkable feature film Zatopek, about the Czech long-distance runner Emil Zatopek, were equipped with visual effects. The crowd simulation in particular, which PFX used to populate the digitally resurrected sports stadiums through which multiple Olympian Emil Zatopek pedals his way through, is sure to delight your little eyes.
What is Zatopek about? Zatopek is the first feature-length film adaptation of the iconic long-distance runner who made sporting history at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki. By winning the 5,000 and 10,000 metres, but also coming top in the marathon, he achieved a historic triple that is still unique today. The Czech wonder runner’s nickname: The Locomotive.
