At the Filmlight stand at the IBC (7.110), the British grading specialist is offering visitors a first look at the new Baselight version 3.2. It now also allows the grading of grouped clips. The interface makes it easier to copy tracks. Filmlight also improved the hue-shift function and trimmed the renderer engine for higher performance.
However, there is not yet a release date, nor a price. A feature list for the current Baselight version can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
To match Baselight 3.2, Filmlight is presenting a new device for colour calibration: According to company information, Truelight Projector Probe can now also calibrate projectors so that, when projecting, they reproduce exactly the colours the material will have on the final film print. A spectrometer is also integrated into the device, making it possible to measure colour and brightness simultaneously.
Truelight Projector Probe is to be available from the beginning of next year; Filmlight does not yet name the price here either.
