ASCON, a developer and integrator of CAD/AEC/PLM solutions, has announced the availability of its award-winning mechanical CAD solution KOMPAS-3D V10 in Light and Viewer editions. The release of the freeware KOMPAS-3D V10 LT and Viewer provides a unique opportunity to introduce CAD users worldwide to professional, powerful and up-to-date 3D modeling software that enables easier, faster and more precise design and engineering completely FREE OF CHARGE.
KOMPAS-3D LT V10 is a functionally reduced version of the current three-dimensional solid-modeling system that can be used free of charge. KOMPAS LT is ideal for learning parametric 3D modeling, 2D drafting, engineering and the creation of manufacturing documentation. KOMPAS-3D LT V10 includes KOMPAS-Graphic 2D drawing and drafting software and the KOMPAS-ABC interactive learning system. Most of the improvements and new features introduced in the professional version of KOMPAS-3D V10 are incorporated into KOMPAS-3D LT.
The main difference between the free KOMPAS-3D LT and the commercial version is that it cannot model assemblies. The manufacturer recommends the system for students and 3D beginners, home use and commercial evaluation. Special terms are available for upgrading from KOMPAS-3D V10 LT to KOMPAS-3D V10 Professional.
