The new features of ThinkingParticles 6 have also been publicised: the new version should also enable smaller studios to create higher quality fluid simulations at lower costs. Release 6 will also allow users to change the material of the liquids in a simulation, such as turning oil into ice.
In addition, there will be a version of ThinkingParticles that is optimised for game engines and will enable indie game developers to use Hollywood-quality particle effects. The first engine to be supported is the Unity engine, with support for the CryEngine and the Unreal Engine planned for the future.
A making-of clip from the film “Final Destination 5”, which was simulated with ThinkingParticles, provides a visual illustration.
