First free story-telling tips, now it’s the turn of textures: 130 reworked textures from Pixar films can now be downloaded here free of charge. This includes 18 cloud textures, 13 paper textures, five water textures, eight frame textures and more. Also included are 16-bit bump and normal maps, as well as tips on building shader networks with Renderman.
Download and right of use
Pixar releases the textures under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. Accordingly, use is also authorised for commercial purposes. Read the CC licence for details! Click here to download.
Working with Renderman?
In our DP issue 07 : 2015 we introduced you to Renderman version 20. The renderer is currently in version 21 and is available in two versions: A commercial and a non-commercial version. You can download Renderman 21 for free here. The Pixar renderer can be combined as a plug-in with Maya, Katana, Houdini and Blender. A supported version for Cinema 4D is still in the works.
