At the time of writing, eleven plug-ins were available for download, all of which are offered free of charge and range from utilities such as a batch render manager to rigging and camera animation tools.
The plugins are created using the new Python API in iClone 7.4, which was introduced in iClone 7.4 at the beginning of 2019. These are designed to allow users to change the functionality of the software. To coincide with the release, the company also launched a new support programme, iClone Open, to help developers write custom plugins.
This has now led to the new marketplace: The tools available are actually the original sample plugins from iClone Open and were previously available via GitHub. These include utilities such as the Group Manager, which creates a hierarchy to organise scene objects, and Batch Render Folder, which automatically renders projects in a specified directory as videos.
There are also a number of animation tools, including a camera tracking system, a joint-controlled morph setup and a plugin for puppeteering the hand gestures of a 3D character via a visual interface.
