Nuke 12.0 – Sneak Peek

A new insight into the upcoming Nuke 12.0 version: Foundry provides new information about the Inpaint Node!

The new inpaint tool from Nuke 12.0: In the last newsletter, Foundry gave a brief insight into the upcoming update of the compositing tool. Following the release of the content-aware fill for After Effects and the latest DaVinci Resolve 16 update, Foundry is now also giving a sneak peek at the new clean-up function.

The Inpaint Tool

The GPU-accelerated tool is designed for fast execution clean-up work – for example, when removing markers, cables or other elements from recordings. According to Foundry, the node is similar to Photoshop’s Healing Brush Tool.

The inpaint function is intended to make the paint workflow more intuitive. Nuke users can use the stretch controls to adjust the direction. The degree of detail can also be adjusted – from another part of the source image or even from a second image. In this way, textures can be easily integrated as inpaint patches.

Nuke 12.0 is currently in closed beta – an official release date is not yet known. To the official newsletter
