Direct Lighting | Rendering

For Houdini: With hdRstr the frame rate lights up in real time.

In nuce: Stefan Krake publishes a Houdini tool for direct lighting.

What can the tool do? You can use the tool to set up direct lighting for thousands of different lights – including frame rates in real time. The whole thing also takes place directly in the viewport.

Who can use it? The tool works with Houdini 18.5 and upwards, or with May 2022. The Windows 10 operating system is supported – support for Linux is still pending. You also need a DirectX ray tracing-capable GPU; Stefan Krake recommends an RTX 2070 or higher.

Any questions? You can contact Stefan Krake via Twitter, Gumroad or GitHub. You can find his hdRstr here – the corresponding video right here below.
