In nuce: Glassbox Technologies has released BeeHive 2.0, the latest version of its paid real-time software for editing and reviewing within Unreal Engine and Maya – specifically for content produced in a virtual production context. According to the product description, BeeHive enables decentralised working by allowing creatives to work live on the same project, no matter where they are in the world.
Below we have summarised some of the most important new features that BeeHive 2 has to offer:
- Version control per asset: Accessible via the new tab called Asset History
- Unreal Engine: Support for Unreal Engine sublevels and new asset types has been introduced. Version 2.0 is said to allow creatives to switch back and forth between these levels and sublevels. In addition, BeeHive now supports all assets from the Unreal Engine, including landscapes, plants and lights (the latter includes Lumen. Digital Production reported on Lumen in Unreal Engine 5 on 20 June and 5 September this year).
- Windows file sharing is now automatically recognised and usable.
