Dynavisions Schweiz AG, the specialist for set-top boxes, is launching a new generation of devices with SOLO HD 200. Regardless of provider and portal, it displays all content offered in HD quality and standard definition on the Internet in high resolution. With SOLO HD 200, the user has access to films, videos and clips from numerous providers such as Maxdome, Premiere Internet TV, Internet Radio and communities such as YouTube or MyVideo.de. The connection to the Internet brings further advantages: fully automatic log-in and updates ensure that installation is child’s play and the device software is always up to date.
The idea of unlimited film and television offerings from the Internet (IPTV) is nothing new. However, users have so far been disillusioned: Because the hardware was usually purchased via the internet provider, the offer was limited to their contractual partners. The display quality also did not utilise the possibilities of an HD television. “Our new product, the SOLO HD 200, is therefore the ideal solution for utilising the offerings on the Internet,” says Jürgen Stehle, CEO of Dynavisions Schweiz AG.
According to the manufacturer, the intuitive user interface with its modern design will delight every user, as they can choose from the menu options without much practice. A particular advantage for users is the new development in the area of remote control. Dynavision’s SOLO HD 200 makes it possible to use the TV set’s existing remote control and other devices such as PDAs fully automatically at the touch of a button.
SOLO HD 200 is also intended to be the ideal complement to the HD television in offline mode. Using the UPnP protocol, the set-top box brings the private photo or film archive from the home network to the TV screen in high resolution – thanks to LAN (also wireless with up to 600 MBit/s) in every room of the house. Dynavisions Schweiz AG is also making its mark with the elaborate packaging of the device. The SOLO HD 200 is delivered in an aluminium case that can be used to store the private CD or DVD collection after the unpacking experience. This not only protects the environment, but also offers practical added value.
Dynavision’s SOLO HD 200 will go on sale in mid-February 2008 at a recommended retail price of 399 euros. The scope of delivery includes all the necessary connection and connection cables as well as remote control, W-Lan stick, operating instructions and care cloth.
