VR-Sound: Pro Tools G’Audio Works

Sound is an essential component for an immersive experience in VR worlds. With G’Audio Works, a plug-in for Pro Tools is now available that supports the creation of VR sound.

According to the Pro Video Coalition, G’Audio Works can be seamlessly integrated into Avid Pro Tools as an AAX plug-in.

G’Audio Works plug-in features

Sound designers can position viewers in the soundscape of the show and accurately reproduce the direction of the sounds according to the environment. The plug-in supports three simultaneous audio signals (mono tracks for objects, 2.0 or 5.1 channel-based tracks, ambisonics to deliver sounds from 360° microphones).

Users can edit and synchronise sounds during playback. Offline bouncing is also supported, so the export time is 30 times faster compared to real-time bouncing.
