The ifs internationale filmschule köln is an artistically and academically orientated training and further education institution for media professionals. On the initiative of the NRW state government and the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, it was founded in 2000 as a non-profit limited company whose sole shareholder is the Film- und Medienstiftung. Its reputation as one of the best film schools in Germany is based in particular on the support it provides to students, its teaching and project work and not least on numerous awards, including a student Oscar.
