Animated feast for the eyes | Animago Afternoon

What happens when Welsh blacknose sheep munch on psychedelic drugs? This short film explains this, and which wash cycle is suitable for sheep’s wool!

In nuce: As part of our weekly recurring series “Animago Afternoon”, we present pearls, treasures and other gems from last year’s Animago film festivals at the best time of the afternoon. This time we’re showing you the short film “Cosmos Laundromat” by the girls and boys of the “Blender Foundation”, which won a “Special Jury Prize”, salvaged from the Animago archives in 2015.

How did Cosmos Laundromat win over the jury? At the time, the Animago jury found that “Cosmos Laundromat” had delivered high quality, both in terms of narrative and visuals, and honoured this with a special award. Incidentally, the entire animated film was created using open source software.

Hanging from a Cliff(hanger): Spoiler Alert: The end of the first wash of the film “Cosmos Laundromat” leaves many questions unanswered. For example: Who is Victor? What is he trying to achieve with his “Cosmos Laundromat” project? What happens to Franck? And why does the viewer now have to plug narrative holes – and not just moth-holed socks?
