Animated feast for the eyes | Animago Afternoon

After community and FFP2 masks, is the full-face respiratory protection mask coming? Rubbish! Urban art dominates the French short film “Atome” – not Covid!

In nuce: As part of our weekly recurring series “Animago Afternoon”, we present pearls, gems and other splendours from last year’s Animago film festivals at the best time of the afternoon. This time we’re showing you the award-nominated French short film “Atome”, realised by VFX artists and animators from “ArtFX”, salvaged from the Animago archives in 2014.

What happens in “Atome”? The scenario: an abandoned warehouse. A man wearing a mask smears one of the walls. Meanwhile, artist’s utensils, oil drums and car tyres take on a life of their own behind his back. The more the street artist exerts himself artistically, the more the objects behind him make a ruckus.
