In nuce: Every week we present you with the best tutorials that will help you polish your workflows with the hottest digital content creation tools in the world! This week we are focussing on video tutorials on 3D modelling with ZBrush.
This week’s tutorials: Today we have the didactically valuable listicle “Great YouTube Channels With ZBrush Tutorials”, compiled by Gloria Levine, editor at our colleagues at 80 Level. In her article, Gloria has compiled seven exciting YouTube channels that are worth a click for anyone who is passionate about 3D modelling or ZBrush. Below we present the respective YouTube channels in fast-forward:
- Pixologic ZBrush: This is Pixologic’s official YouTube presence – packed with tutorials, webinars, updates on the software and all sorts of didactic stuff. In our opinion, it’s the first port of call for anyone who wants to stay up-to-date with ZBrush.
- FlippedNormals: Henning Sanden and Morten Jæger are behind this channel. Both gentlemen are former character artists from the film industry, with high-calibre entries such as Pacific Rim, Alien: Covenant and Guardians of the Galaxy in their portfolio.
- Michael Pavlovich: Head of Character Art at Certain Affinity, Michael’s YouTube channel delivers both – tutorials for film and game projects. Michael’s tutorials are ideal for those of you looking to get started with ZBrush pretty quickly.
- Nexttut: Supplies you with tutorials of different levels – not only for absolute beginners, but also for advanced artists. The channel offers videos that are rather short and concise, but also offers multi-part courses that build on each other.
- Gatz 3D: This channel is primarily aimed at the beginners among you – whether it’s the first steps in creating hair, body parts or armour (for your Lord of the Rings-like fantasy character).
- SpeedChar: This channel specialises in: human anatomy. For anyone who needs to brush up on their Hippocratic oath and can’t keep their hands off the virtual ZBrush scalpel, SpeedChar is a worthwhile source of information.
- MLW Creative: Marcus Whinney, TD Artist at Double Negative, lectures on this channel. What Marcus conjures up from the viewport is monstrous: superhero monster Venom, a cave troll from Lord of the Rings, or the claws of a bird of prey.
Click further: You can also find the seven tutorial channels in the listicle Great YouTube Channels With ZBrush Tutorials by our colleague Gloria Levine at 80 Level, which is well worth reading and clicking on. As a foretaste of the didactic range, we have linked three of our favourite tutorials below – one in which you model film monster Godzilla, another in which you get to grips with the running bird, and a final one in which you create a Sugar Skull-like skull. We wish you every success with your creative projects!
