In nuce: As a follow-up to this year’s Siggraph, where Maxon was present with its The 3D and Motion Design Show, the associated live recordings have now been released as YouTube videos – with Victor Dimitrov (also known under his pseudonym Weight of Thought)among the prominent personnel. He is a creative specialising in design and animation. His favourite tools include Cinema 4D and Octane – he also prefers to work with kitbashing. Fun fact: At the beginning of the video, the presenter points out that Victor is a big fan of the manga series Attack on Titan .

In toto: In the video, which lasts around three quarters of an hour, Victor talks about how important it is for artists to work on personal creative projects in order to develop their own style. One of the projects Victor has worked on to develop as a creative is the sci-fi style Weightless Trailer (see below). Victor says: “As a 3D artist, it’s often not about what you think you can do, it’s about what you can prove you can do.” Victor goes on to say that his Weightless trailer has enabled him to approach projects professionally that match his personal tastes. Victor also talks about vertex maps and how he uses them to create loops with the Effectors in C4D.

Click further: On 14 October this year , Digital Production reported on another live recording as part of the Maxon show, at which Victor Dimitrov also gave a lecture – the two videos are almost identical in terms of content. However, if you want to find out how to create an animation worth seeing in Cinema 4D with comparatively little effort, both videos are well worth watching.
