In nuce: VFX service provider MPC has released a new showreel that summarises the studio highlights of 2021 from the film & series sector in a slim one and a half minutes.
In toto: In the video below, there is a reunion with a galaxy far, far away (The Mandalorian), or with the talented dancing duo Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver from the musical film Annette. Some of the most visually impressive films MPC has worked on in recent years include the action sequel Top Gun: Maverick, the mystery film Nope by suspense mastermind Jordan Peele, and the video game adaptation of the gaming IP Halo (Digital Production reported on 18 November and 24 November last year on the series Breaking Down The Breakdown by Rodeo FX, in which VFX producer Nancy Heller and VFX supervisor Patrick David take apart the creation of the visual effects for the series). VFX-heavy projects currently in the pipeline at MPC include Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Click further: In the past, Digital Production has increasingly referred to showreels from MPC – most recently on 13 October 2022, because that’s when it started: Elvis hip-swinging, flying saucers and fluttering kites. It was a similar story on 30 August 2022, when ruling lizards and lordly Vikings embarked on an 80-day journey around the world.
