World VFX Day 2025 will take place on Monday, 8 December 2025, streaming live from Framestore’s London headquarters. The all-day global broadcast will run via the official YouTube channel, featuring free access to panels, talks, and roundtables with leading professionals in visual effects and animation. The event celebrates the craft, people, and technology driving visual effects, uniting over 460 studios and partners worldwide. Since its launch in 2023, World VFX Day has aimed to highlight the talent behind the screen while encouraging open discussion on working conditions, innovation, and the evolving global pipeline.
Confirmed Speakers and Sessions
The 2025 programme features representatives from major studios including WētāFX, ILM, Dream Machine FX, Important Looking Pirates, Adobe, Cinesite, and Chaos Group.
Confirmed sessions include:
- VFX & Animation Supervisor Roundtable with Denis Baudin, Genevieve Camilleri, and Aidan Martin of WētāFX.
- VFX: Hollywood’s Underdog, featuring ILM’s Todd Vaziri and Valentina Sgro.
- Leadership Fireside Chat, with David Li, founder of Dream Machine FX, and William Sargent, co-founder of Framestore.
- VFX Innovation panel in partnership with the Visual Effects Society (VES) and View Conference, including Michael Ralla (Warner Bros.), Johnny Han (HBO), Christina Caspers (Trixter & Cinesite), Kevin Baillie (Eyeline Studios), and Christine Resch (Adobe).

ILP Kicks Off from Shoreditch
This year’s broadcast opens live from Important Looking Pirates (ILP) in Shoreditch, London. CEO Eva Mautino will launch the event alongside Framestore . Founded in Stockholm in 2007, ILP is now part of Dream Machine FX, which also includes FIN, Zero VFX, Arc Creative, and Mavericks VFX. Recent ILP projects include The Last of Us Season 2, Predator: Badlands, and Fallout Season 2.
Global Meet-Ups
Studios and VFX communities are organising free meet-ups in multiple cities, coordinated with partners such as VES, FMX – Film & Media Exchange, Studio Ulu, and Asia Pillars – Film Connection. The organisers encourage anyone to host informal gathering, no fees or formal structures required.
