German Developer Award
The German Developer Award is presented annually in December at the Lichtburg in Essen to German computer game developers who have brought an outstanding PC or console game onto the market within the last twelve months. Commercial success is not the decisive criterion here. Exciting new game ideas, technical innovations, an excellent interface and playful qualities are important factors that are taken into account in the assessment.
The German Developer Award recognises professional, public and jury prizes. The jury of the German Developer Award is made up of recognised industry experts from various areas of the German entertainment software industry: Developers, publishers, service providers and press representatives.
The German Developer Award is awarded both by the Academy of the German Developer Award - consisting of a maximum of 300 members of our industry - and by a broad public. The prize is awarded in 22 categories. Every year, the jury of the German Developer Award nominates candidates for the annual award from all games published in Germany.
