Three bodies, one idea: small, fast, Open Gate
The MISSION 1 Series splits into three models: MISSION 1 PRO, MISSION 1, and MISSION 1 PRO ILS. All three use a 50 megapixel 1-inch sensor and the new GP3 processor. The lineup targets 8K and 4K capture with Open Gate modes for reframing and multi-aspect delivery.

MISSION 1 PRO and MISSION 1 PRO ILS support 8K at up to 60 frames per second in 16 by 9, 4K at up to 240 frames per second, and up to 10 second burst 1080p at 960 frames per second. Non-burst capture includes 1080p at 480 frames per second and 1440p at 480 frames per second. MISSION 1 caps 8K at 30 frames per second, supports 4K at 120 frames per second, and 1080p at 240 frames per second in 16 by 9, plus 4K at 120 frames per second and 1440p at 240 frames per second in 4 by 3.
Open Gate recording uses the full 4-by-3 sensor for delivery flexibility. MISSION 1 PRO and MISSION 1 PRO ILS support 8K30 Open Gate and 4K120 Open Gate. MISSION 1 supports 4K120 Open Gate.

Sensor math, bitrate knobs, and the stuff editors care about
The 50 megapixel 1-inch sensor uses native 1.6 micrometre pixels and fused 3.2 micrometre pixels in Quad Bayer mode, with up to 14 stops of dynamic range at the sensor. The GP3 processor uses a 5-nanometer design and includes an AI neural processing unit for video pixel processing and low-light image processing.
For post workflows, the cameras support bitrates up to 240 megabits per second, HLG HDR, 10-bit colour with GP Log2, and timecode sync for multi-camera shoots. The cameras also support 32-bit float audio recording, and Bluetooth 5.3 audio via the hands-free profile with super wideband speech for wireless audio connections to compatible devices. Keep in mind that any new camera and codec combo deserves a full pipeline test before you bet a deadline on it. Still capture goes up to 50 megapixels and supports raw photo capture. The pipeline also includes SuperPhoto mode and burst capture up to 60 photos per second.
Design changes that matter when your hands are wet
MISSION 1 and MISSION 1 PRO are waterproof to 20 meters without a housing. A protective housing accessory extends waterproofing to 60 meters for those two models. MISSION 1 PRO ILS is weatherproof. So, no matter how nervous and sweat-handed some you are during the shot…
The camera design updates include a new lens design with a 159 degree native field of view, a rear OLED display that is 14 percent larger than previous flagship cameras, redesigned buttons intended for glove use, and a removable lens hood.

The lens swap model and the Micro Four Thirds question
MISSION 1 PRO ILS changes the formula with an interchangeable lens mount compatible with Micro Four Thirds lenses, plus adapter support for additional lenses. It also supports in-camera HyperSmooth video stabilization with any rectilinear, prime focal length lens.
Availability timing differs by model. MISSION 1 PRO, MISSION 1 PRO Grip Edition, and MISSION 1 open for preorder on May 21, 2026, with global on-shelf availability starting May 28, 2026. MISSION 1 PRO ILS, MISSION 1 PRO Creator Edition, and MISSION 1 PRO Ultimate Creator Edition are scheduled for Q3 2026.
Pricing is not specified yet, but it is scheduled to be unveiled at the NAB Show at booth C5519.
Accessories, I O, and the practical add-ons
The accessory ecosystem includes a wireless microphone system, a point-and-shoot grip, a powered grip, the Enduro 2 battery, and an I/O expansion Media Mod. The ecosystem also includes M-Series ND filters, a dual battery charger for Enduro 2, a vertical mount adapter, and other accessories. The accessory suite is planned to roll out beginning May 2026 through Q3 2026.

The Wireless Mic System specs include 24 bit 48 kilohertz audio, dynamic noise reduction, 10 gram transmitters that can clip or magnet-mount, adjustable gain, and a safety track mode that records a backup track at minus 6 decibels. Runtime is listed as 6.5 hours per mic, plus a charging case providing two additional full charges, and up to 150 meters of wireless range. The MISSION 1 Series Media Mod adds multiple 3.5 millimeter ports for external mic, line-in for timecode sync, and a headset port for monitoring, plus a micro-HDMI output supporting up to 4K60 video output.
Battery and runtime claims (!) include 5 plus hours of recording at 1080p30 in Endurance Mode and 3 plus hours at 4K30 on a single charge. Volta 2 is specified with a built-in 5800 milliamp hour battery and is listed for up to 9 hours of 4K30 recording time when used as described. Thermal and runtime claims are tied to the new GP3 design, hardware optimizations, and the higher-capacity Enduro 2 battery thremal behavior will still depend on settings and environment.
App workflow and Labs knobs
The MISSION 1 Series supports the Quik app for transfer and editing workflows, including automatic highlight videos when connected to home Wi-Fi and cloud upload. Subscriber benefits include unlimited cloud storage with auto-upload, with Premium and Premium+ subscriptions available through the app or the website.
