Champagne simulation | Fluids workshop

In the fiery stream of vines: Workflow fuelled with bubbly.

Intoxication needs practice

Off to champagne night with Houdini: In the beginner and advanced workshop, you will learn – in over three hours – how to pour a glass of champagne in proper style. All simulated in Houdini, of course.

The little alcoholic

The workshop begins with Houdini’s shelf tools: Pull up geometry. Pour liquid from the geometry into the glass. And start the simulation. The workshop continues like this: using customised settings to simulate the interaction between foam and liquid. The workshop goes on and on: prepare foam particles for meshing and rendering – and remodel other particles into champagne bubbles. The workshop comes to an end when: Prepare exposure and shaders, then render out with Houdini Render-Engine Mantra. The champagne fun is ready for all Houdinis.
