In nuce: The Hamburg Animation Club invites you to its 2nd edition on Thursday, 19 May! Author and filmmaker Till Penzek will present animation artists and their films. The Hamburg Animation Club No. 2 takes place in co-operation with the Moin Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein! The venue is the Metropolis cinema in Hamburg.
The key dates: The 2nd Hamburg Animation Club will take place this Thursday, 19 May at 19:30. Visitors will meet at the Metropolis cinema at Kleine Theaterstraße 10 in 20354 Hamburg. The regular ticket costs 7.50 euros, reduced tickets are priced at 5 euros. Tickets can be purchased directly from the Metropolis cinema website. The guest artists will be Frédéric Schuld (“Fabian & Fred”), Lina Paulsen and Arved Lindau (“Studio Blainville”).
What’s on the programme? Frédéric Schuld is an author and director who realised the short film “The Chimney Swift”, which was shortlisted for the 2022 Oscars. Together with Fabian Driehorst, Frédéric founded the Hamburg-based animation studio “Fabian & Fred”, with which the two creatives specialise in 2D/3D, stopmotion and VR films.
Under the label “Animation in Progress”, Lina Paulsen and Arved Lindau will also present the puppet animation film “From the Hand to the Head”. It deals with the life of the painter Marcel Duchamp – realised as an animated TV show. Lindau works as a media artist, Paulsen runs the children’s short film festival “Mo & Friese”.
