In nuce: This VFX breakdown from the girls and boys at Industrial Light & Magic for the successful Marvel series Hawkeye will spoil your eyes with all kinds of eye-candy. Among them: A strengthened Avengers Tower between demolished urban canyons; explosions en masse that do a Michael Bay proud; a computer-generated cityscape, a full CG Christmas tree – but also the usual set extensions, background replacements and green screen work that are part of the tools of every VFX showcase. Of course, Hawkeye always includes (and has in his quiver): brilliant archery!
Our personal highlight: the CGI owl that has taken up residence in the Christmas tree while series hero Hawkeye struggles for his life in the branches.
