MacroSystem announced a hardware upgrade intended to keep Kron at the top of its Casablanca editing-system range. The revised platform used a new motherboard and a faster Intel Pentium processor with a higher-speed memory bus.

  • 256 MB of system memory
  • A redesigned upper and lower case, new power supply and modified cooling for lower operating noise
  • A third USB port and a network connection for future expansion
  • A second IDE controller to separate the internal hard drive from an optional Arabesk DVD writer
  • Removal of the SCSI controller

The recommended price was €749 including VAT in Germany and €775 in Austria. MacroSystem said further details about ordering, availability and final pricing would follow at the beginning of 2003 for the dedicated video-editing system.
